Katie Nenneker

Founder and COO

Dr. Nenn was raised in Oak Park California and spent most of her time at Foxfield Riding School where her love of horses started at an early age. She attended California State University Fresno where she obtained her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in pre-Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Nenn was an active member of the NCAA equestrian team and was team Captain for two years. While there she earned the highest honor awarded to an athlete when she received the “bulldog of the year award,” celebrating excellence in the classroom, your sport, and community service. In 2019 she was awarded the NCEA alumni award for excellence in the field of Medicine.

After Graduating summa cum laude from Fresno State, she attended Veterinary school at Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in Ontario Canada. While in Canada she focused her studies on Equine Medicine. She graduated in 2015 and moved back to Ventura County where she completed a year-long Equine Internship.  

Her equine specialty is dentistry and she has taken many specialized courses growing her skills and passion in the area.

After a few years of working on horses, Dr. Nenn’s interests expanded to include all farm animal species.

She and her husband, Greg Marx, opened Nenn Equine in 2020 to allow her to care for all large animals. Today she works on horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, llamas, pigs, cows, and chickens.

Dr. Nenn is a mother of two little girls. She enjoys trips to Lake Havasu and spending time with her family, animals and friends in her free time.

Greg Marx

Founder and CEO

Greg Marx is a Southern California native, he graduated from Warren High School and lived in Seal Beach California. While attending high school, Greg was a Downey Fire Department Explorer Program member. His time with this program was the start of an impressive career in Emergency services. He attended UCLA Daniel Freeman Paramedic school and has been a paramedic for nearly 30 years. Greg moved to Ventura County and worked for the Ventura County Fire Department in the fire communications center for 14 years. While there he earned multiple prestigious awards for his service and life-saving abilities. During his time in Ventura County, he worked as a Flight Paramedic for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and continued to work as a Paramedic for American Medical Response.

In 2017 he became a member of the Los Angeles City Fire Department where he works as a Fire Fighter Paramedic. Today he also serves as the business spearhead and CEO of Nenn Equine.

Greg enjoys competitive CrossFit, trips to lake Havasu and spending time with his family in his free time.

Jennifer Gordon

Secretary

Jenn was born and raised in Ventura County. Since she can remember, she has invariably had a passion for helping animals and advocating for them. From 4-H to competing in dressage, 3-day eventing, and polo, Jenn knew she wanted a career working with animals. She started working for a large animal hospital learning the ins and outs of every part of the hospital. Since then, she has worked in emergency and general practice clinics. She has worked as a veterinary assistant/technician and receptionist and ordering manager and moved her way up to office manager. She’s very excited to be a part of the NENN Equine team and looks forward to serving you and your pets.

Fallon Haig DVM, MS, DACVS

Surgeon

Dr. Fallon grew up showing Hunter/Jumpers on the east coast. She moved to the west coast for her undergraduate studies to attend Stanford University, where she received degrees in Biology and Studio Art. She attended Auburn University for veterinary school and completed an internship back in California at the Steinbeck-Peninsula Equine Medical Center. Dr. Fallon accepted a second internship at the University of Missouri and then her combined Large Animal Surgery Residency and Master’s Degree Program at Purdue University. When not at work, Dr. Fallon enjoys spending time with her husband and their four dogs, as well as riding her own horses. Dr. Fallon currently works at Humphrey Giacopuzzi & Associates Equine Hospital as an associate surgeon.

Mike Murphy

Treasure

In 1980 he started the Murphy & Murphy team along with his twin brother, Pat. 

Mike emphasizes the values of relationships and the friendly environment of Murphy, Murphy & Murphy. Making a difference in the lives of his family & friends and clients & co-workers is important to him. He is very active outside of MMM, being involved with such groups as Christian Family Retreat, The Haynes Memorial Fund and Saints Simon and Jude Church American Family Housing, Santiago Retreat Center, and Wells of Life.

Jessica Penn

Director

Jessica currently resides in Georgetown KY where she owns and operates Thistlegate LLC, a small-scale operation focusing on training young sport horses with her sister. Growing up in Southern California with Dr. Nenn, Jess and Katie both surrounded themselves with animals and have always taken animal care and welfare to heart. Jessica graduated with high honors from Johnson and Wales University with a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management. Since then, her priority has always been to provide top care and treatment for horses in the sport horse industry. Through continuous education and a hands-on approach, she has cultivated relationships with equestrians nationwide.
